As a focal point for Natural Language Processing in Australia, the
Centre for Language Technology aims to play a significant role in the
education and training of professionals to satisfy Australia's growing
language technology industry.
The Centre currently provides
a range of teaching and training opportunities for those interested in
Natural Language Processing
and Language Technology.

Our undergraduate Language Technology
Program, funded
by the Federal Government's prestigious Science Lectureships Initiative
scheme,
provides a number of units that can be taken as part of an
undergraduate degree
at Macquarie University.

The Language Technology Honours Program is open to students who have
qualified for a BA, BSc or BTech with a major in Computing. The normal
admission requirement is a GPA of at least 2.5 overall and 2.5 in
300-level units. The program is also open to students who have
completed a pass degree in Computing at an equivalent level elsewhere.

We teach a number of units in the Masters
in Speech and Language
Processing that is hosted by
Macquarie's Department of Linguistics.
We are always interested in high-achieving and highly-motivated
students who wish to undertake a PhD in Language Technology.
