Overview

As a focal point for Natural Language Processing in Australia, the Centre for Language Technology aims to play a significant role in the education and training of professionals to satisfy Australia's growing language technology industry.

The Centre currently provides a range of teaching and training opportunities for those interested in Natural Language Processing and Language Technology.

  • Our undergraduate Language Technology Program, funded by the Federal Government's prestigious Science Lectureships Initiative scheme, provides a number of units that can be taken as part of an undergraduate degree at Macquarie University.

  • The Language Technology Honours Program is open to students who have qualified for a BA, BSc or BTech with a major in Computing. The normal admission requirement is a GPA of at least 2.5 overall and 2.5 in 300-level units. The program is also open to students who have completed a pass degree in Computing at an equivalent level elsewhere.

  • We teach a number of units in the Masters in Speech and Language Processing that is hosted by Macquarie's Department of Linguistics.

  • We are always interested in high-achieving and highly-motivated students who wish to undertake a PhD in Language Technology.

Follow the links above or in the menu on the left to find out more.

We also provide tailored courses for commercial and industrial organisations who would like to find out more about how language technology can be used in business. Email us for more information
