Honours in Language Technology is undertaken in the Department of Computing as a specialist strand within the Department's Honours Program. See the Department's honours pages for general information about the Honours Program. Here, we provide additional information about features that are unique to the Language Technology strand.

  • Students who have not already taken both of Comp348 and Comp349 are strongly encouraged to take these units during their honours year.

  • Students should take Comp448, Advanced Topics in Natural Language Processing, and are encouraged to take other honours units that focus on language technology topics. See our short descriptions of the honours-level Language Technology units.

  • Staff with interests in Language Technology offer a broad range of honours project topics that focus on this area.

  • Students are expected to attend weekly meetings of the Language Technology Group.

  • Students should endeavour to attend all seminars in the SALS-SIG and HAIL Seminar series. Your written reports will typically be on seminars presented in these series.

Note that we usually have a number of Honours Scholarships available; see the scholarships page.
