Corpora Collection

We have a special disk where we can share our different corpora. The location of this disk is:
/disks/vesuvius/clt/corpora

If you are working from windows a nice litte trick to get them on h-drive is to make a symlink in your home dir. If you log on to vesuvius (given you are in your homedir) you execute:
ln -s /disks/vesuvius/clt/corpora
Now you should have a directory on your h-drive pointing to the corpora we have. (note you should be a member of the CLT and the LTG group, if you're not ask CTS)

If you put new corpora there, make sure to set the groupid to LTG.

CVS

How to change someone's cvs password (hack, but it seems there's no other way with the version of cvs installed on vesuvius): the whole idea is to copy the encrypted password from the central unix passwd file, and to paste it in the cvs passwd file. So all you have to do is to find your own entry in the centralised file:
ypcat passwd | grep username
of course, username has to be replaced by the right username.

Connexor aka Conexor

Connexor is installed on marcus. You can check if Connexor is running by searching the ps output for en-fdg:
/usr/ucb/ps -auwx | grep en-fdg

To start your own instance of Connexor, do:
/share/Connexor/connexor/en/fdg/en-fdg -k [--text|--xml] --port=*port*
Where --text or --xml make Connexor generate text or XML output respectively. *port* has to be replaced by a port number (for example, 5000).

Generic Connexor documentation can be found here and Unix specific documentation here.

Logos

We have two CLT logos available. At the moment, there are eps versions only:

Macquarie University logos can be found here. You should probably make sure you use it according to the guidelines. And here's a thumbs-up.
