Place: Seminar Room 357, Building E6A, Macquarie University

Abstract:

A system is described that integrates knowledge-based signal processing and natural language processing to automatically generate descriptions of time-series data. These descriptions are based on short and long-term trends in the data which are detected using wavelet analysis. The basic architecture of the system is presented and some experimental results are shown for weather data. This is a practice talk for a paper to be presented at the IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Processing Systems. In addition, a demonstration will also be given of the most recent version of the system.
